About Environs Residential NSP In December 2008, Environs Residential Design & Construction submitted a letter of intent to the City of Atlanta indicating our plans to apply for Neighborhood Stabilization Program funding. We were notified in February 2009 that we had been allocated $480,000 of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) NSP funding to be distributed to the City of Atlanta. These funds are specifically to be used in census tracks 31 (Reynoldstown, 30316, 30307), 205 (Edgewood, 30317), 206 and 207 (Kirkwood, 30317). Needless to say, we were thrilled, but still had to complete the full Request for Proposals issued by the city to qualify for the funds. We submitted those documents in March 2009 and received final notification of funding on May 25, 2009. The application was made for the funding after having completed a home for a client in the Reynoldstown area and finding out that the very same area was eligible for program dollars. We were so delighted with the outcome of the project completed in November 2008 and the incredible neighbors who were wildly supportive of our efforts that we decided to focus on the area as part of our overall business plan. In addition to having received a direct allocation of NSP funds, Environs is also a developer-partner with Resources for Residents and Communities (RRC), a non-profit group that was born in Reynoldstown and has expanded to other parts of the metro Atlanta area. The RRC received $1.2M of NSP funding and will be doing work in the same areas as Environs and in other areas as well. The synergy of our two organizations should prove extremely beneficial to home buyers and make the rehab process more efficient, stretching programs funds to reap the highest neighborhood stabilization benefits. Environs has recently applied for WBE (Woman Business Enterprise) certification with the City of Atlanta. We are a small, quality-oriented company with big visions for our city and its residents which we are proud to say include both owners as well as most of our associates, sub-contractors and vendors.
