Resources for Residents and Communities (RRC)

www.rrc.reynoldstown.org

All NSP home buyers are required to attend a home buyer education program both before and after purchasing an NSP home. The Resources for Residents and Communities (RRC) offers both programs at their Reynoldstown location, 100 Flat Shoals Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA 30316.   Pre-homebuyer education at RRC for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program consists of an eight hour homebuyer education workshop and two hours of one-on-one counseling.  The eight hour homebuyer education workshop is offered twice a month, every month.  There is a $20 materials and refreshments fee. To register for a workshop, contact RRC at 404-525-4130, ext. 17.

After completing the workshop, an individual counseling appointment can be scheduled.  In the counseling sessions, the RRC counselor will review and analyze the potential homebuyer’s credit, budget and income.  Prospective downpayment assistance programs will be considered based on the client’s situation. Together, an action plan will be developed for the homebuyer to achieve mortgage readiness.  Lender provided documents will be jointly reviewed prior to closing.

RRC is a HUD approved homebuyer counseling agency and a NeighborWorks America affiliate.  There are other Atlanta homebuyer education programs that also provide these services, but for those who have yet to attend a program, the RRC can ensure buyers receive the quality education they need to purchase an NSP home.
